2022 ACFE Chapter Foundation Challenge Results
/It’s been nine years since the ACFE began challenging chapters to raise funds for the ACFE Foundation, called our Chapter Foundation Challenge. While I should no longer be surprised at the generosity of our ACFE chapters, I am still astonished to see so many chapters donating and participating in the challenge.
Since 2016, ACFE chapters surpassed the previous year’s donation amount all but once (2020). We are proud to say that ACFE chapters achieved this goal again. In 2022, ACFE chapters donated another record-breaking $128,980!
The ACFE and the ACFE Foundation thank all of the chapter leaders and chapter members who support this important cause that will provide valuable educational opportunities for students and researchers with an interest in fraud examination.
This year, ACFE chapters broke records for:
Most amount donated
Most chapters participated (39, previously 35)
Most chapters donated at the Double Platinum level (8, previously 6)
Most chapters donated at the Silver level (13, previously 9)
Most chapters donated the previous year (21, previously 17)
Since the Chapter Foundation Challenge began in 2014, ACFE chapters have raised more than $571,000. As you can see from the totals in the following figure, aside from 2020, chapter donations have steadily increased since 2015.
A total of 75 chapters have participated in the Chapter Foundation Challenge at one time or another. We are lucky that we continue to see chapters that repeatedly donate and are happy to welcome new chapters that joined the challenge for the first time.

Additional Recognition
The ACFE would also like to give a big thank-you to the Houston Area Chapter. With their donation in 2022, they have now donated $100,490 to the ACFE Foundation. The ACFE cannot thank you enough for supporting the mission of the ACFE Foundation and the assistance you’ve provided over the years encouraging other chapters to donate as well.
In 2019, the ACFE Foundation expanded its scope by merging with the ACFE Research Institute (ARI). The ARI works with academics and practitioners to support research studies on the prevention of fraud and corruption. It provides both funding and data to aid research studies that benefit Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs) and the anti-fraud profession.
