2021 ACFE Chapter Foundation Challenge Results
/For eight years, the ACFE has challenged chapters to raise funds for the ACFE Foundation. Since we are all continuing to operate during the pandemic, the ACFE was not sure what type of response this initiative would bring. However, the chapters answered the call in 2021, and then some, by donating a record-breaking $109,505! Chapters found success by offering virtual and hybrid events, which allowed them to donate more than in previous years.
The ACFE and the ACFE Foundation thank all of the chapter leaders and chapter members who support this important cause that will provide valuable educational opportunities for students and researchers with an interest in fraud examination.
This year, ACFE chapters broke records for:
Most amount donated
Most donated by one chapter in a year (Dallas Area – $20,000)
Most chapters participated (35, previously 29)
Most chapters donated at the Double Platinum level (6, previously 3)
Most chapters donated at the Silver level (9, previously 8)
Most chapters donated at the Bronze level (16, previously 11)
Most first-time donators (13 tied)
Since the Chapter Foundation Challenge began in 2014, ACFE chapters have raised more than $440,000. As you can see from the totals in the following figure, aside from 2020, chapter donations have steadily increased since 2015.
A total of 60 chapters have participated in the Chapter Foundation Challenge at one time or another. We are lucky that we continue to see chapters that repeatedly donate and are happy to welcome new chapters that joined the challenge for the first time.

In 2019, the ACFE Foundation expanded its scope by merging with the ACFE Research Institute (ARI). The ARI works with academics and practitioners to support research studies on the prevention of fraud and corruption. It provides both funding and data to aid research studies that benefit Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs) and the anti-fraud profession.
