Featured Speaker: Bret Hood, CFE

By now, most ACFE chapters have transitioned to offering virtual trainings. In fact, many chapters have found that they can offer even more trainings virtually than their previously in-person training. The challenge our chapters still face is the difficulty in locating qualified speakers.

You might remember that in February, we began a new feature where I would spotlight a speaker. The first speaker we highlighted was Jason Zirkle, CFE. I’d like to continue highlighting speakers and give you some additional ideas for your upcoming events with our next featured speaker, 2020 ACFE Baker Award Winner, Bret Hood, CFE.

After serving 25 years as an FBI special agent, Michael “Bret” Hood became a member of the ACFE faculty, as well as an adjunct professor of forensic accounting for the University of Virginia and Mt. St. Mary’s University. During his tenure with the FBI, Hood worked many complex financial crime, money laundering, corruption and major cases, such as the 9/11 terrorist attack, the HealthSouth fraud, and the Maricopa Investments case.
