Chapter Leaders Meeting Recap
/I was thrilled to see more than 80 chapter leaders from around the world on Sunday, June 15 at the 25th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference for the largest chapter leaders meeting in the ACFE’s history. Ryan Hubbs, CFE, of the Houston Area Chapter facilitated the meeting, which included a review of the updated 2014 Chapter Leaders Resource Guide and chapter leaders sharing their successes from the past year.
Discussion among chapter leaders included strategies for increasing membership and meeting attendance, tips for finding sponsors, scholarship programs and how to form alliances with other organizations.
During the meeting I also had the opportunity to hear firsthand about the issues that are most important to you and what tools are most needed.
I have already started on some of the items discussed in the meeting and over the second half of this year you can expect to see the following:
Upgraded Member List:
We are working to add the following upgrades to the member list at ACFE.com
- Add a “download Excel file” button so that chapter leaders will no longer have to copy/paste the member list
- Add a column to the member list indicating which members have requested to not be contacted by email
- Add an option to filter the list to see new Associate members, or new CFEs in a defined time range
Increased Visibility of the Chapter Calendar of Events on ACFE.com:
If more chapters post their events on the calendar, it can become a great resource for ACFE members searching for local training options. Please list your events that are 4 hours or longer on the calendar.
A Full List of Chapter Presidents:
Chapter leaders discussed the need for an easier option to be able to contact each other. We will work to provide a list of chapter presidents and their contact information behind the chapter leader login page at ACFE.com.
Updated Chapter Handbook:
The chapter handbook was last updated in 2010. I will work to complete an updated version of the handbook by the end of 2014. I will make sure that the information contained in the handbook is accurate, relevant, and provides clear direction for the minimum expectations ACFE has for chapters.
Once again, thanks to all who attended. I am looking forward to an even better meeting at next year’s conference in Baltimore.
