Sell-Out Crowd at Colorado Conference

The Colorado Chapter presented its 2014 Annual COCFE Fall Fraud Training Conference, October 16-17 at the Arvada Center outside Denver.

Chapter President Gary Schwartz, CFE, and Vice-President Ken King, CFE, worked hard to bring a diverse slate of speakers to the sell-out crowd of more than 210 attendees that included visitors from Kansas, Wyoming and New Mexico.

The conference kicked off with the U.S. National Anthem performed by special guest soul singer SuCh and a presentation of colors by the Arvada Police Department Honor Guard.

Nationally known identity theft speaker John Sileo was featured on the first day of the event, along with Professor Roy Wood of the University of Denver and several speakers from the Colorado Attorney General’s Office and U.S. Postal Inspection Service. On the second day of the event, attendees were treated to a full-day presentation by interviewing and deception detection expert Joelle Sweeney.

King said plans exist to expand next year’s event to include a larger sponsor and exhibit area with increased capacity. “The board worked as a team to pull off a great event this year. We’re already looking forward to planning another successful conference for our members in 2015,” King said.
