For the second time in three years, the ACFE held the ACFE Global Fraud Conference in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Chapter also hosted an ACFE Foundation Charity Poker Tournament again. The tournament was held at the Mandalay Bay Poker Room and all proceeds supported the ACFE’s Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship Program.

This year, there were 43 participants all using their deception and detection skills to take on the rest of the field. The tournament started out with a bang. There was some early light-hearted badmouthing between a couple of competitors who were trying to distract each other. There were also a few early all-in bets, which just added to the excitement of the event.

Since we had so many competitors, the ACFE awarded prizes to the top six winners:
-    1st Place - Derek Knights – Full Conference registration to the 2019 ACFE Global Fraud Conference
-    2nd Place – Matt Denton (Hawaii Chapter Leader) - $300 cash
-    3rd Place – Lyn Cameron - $300 cash
-    4th Place – Jonathan Koller - $125 cash
-    5th Place – Michelle St. Pierre - $125 bookstore coupon
-    6th Place – Ancris Ramdhanie - $75 bookstore coupon

The tournament raised $4,575 for the scholarship fund. We look forward to holding the tournament again in the future and having it be an even bigger success.

Thank you again to the Las Vegas Chapter and to everyone who participated in the tournament.
