Fraud Conference Canada a Success in Montreal

The 2016 ACFE Fraud Conference Canada was held in Montreal, QC on September 11-14. More than 300 attendees from eight different countries made this the largest ACFE event that has taken place in Canada. I would like to thank the Montreal chapter for their tireless efforts in marketing the conference, as well as the Canadian chapters that promoted it at their local events.

We promoted the conference through the chapter website, LinkedIn, Twitter accounts and people in our professional network. We felt using different channels would allow us to reach more people, even those not located in Montreal.
— Mathieu Auger-Perreault, Montreal Chapter Vice President.

We were also able to organize a Chapter Leaders Networking Reception where more than 20 chapter leaders discussed challenges their chapters are facing. It was a good opportunity for us to meet each other, provide feedback, offer suggestions and discuss upcoming initiatives. I hope to organize more networking receptions at our other conferences when possible.

We felt the fact that the Canadian conference was in Montreal was a great opportunity to promote anti-fraud awareness, the ACFE and the Montreal chapter. The success of the conference shows the results that can be achieved when everyone gets involved and works toward the same goal.
